Summer Cleanses

With the summer sun beating down on us this week (it IS only June, right??), we’ve all transitioned into our lighter eating habits and dreams of beach vacations. The abundance of fresh, local fruit and produce always inspires me to rethink my food choices and get a fresh start. We recently caught up with Kelley from Bamboo Juices, one of our first vendors, and she was generous enough to write a guest post to educate our readers about cleansing and how she uses them to refocus.

Customers always ask me how many times per year they should cleanse. In my opinion, one 3-5 juice cleanse per season is perfect. If you’re in a situation where you eat a fair amount of processed food, it’s a good idea to also include a few one day cleanses between your seasonal cleanses.

Summer is finally here, which means it’s time for your summer cleanse. This is actually my favorite time of the year to cleanse because it’s the easiest for me. We naturally eat less food in the summer so this cleanse always feels like a walk in the park. This is also the time of year when I find myself starting to “check out” from work. The cleanse reinvigorates me and inspires me to jump back on track and refocus my energy. Right when I feel like there is no way I can do another day of work, I start my cleanse and sure enough, after the third day, I am excited to re-engage and full of new ideas. This clarity is the power of cleansing. After three days I not only feel inspired, but my body feels energized, my skin looks brighter and I feel proud when I look in the mirror.
